Local Business History presentation: Forge River Nursery Home & Garden Center
Forge River Nursery owner Michael Arnold arrived at our Moriches Branch on Monday evening, May 19th, with stories galore and beautiful “souvenirs”: red, pink, and fuschia impatiens that he gifted to patrons at the end of the program. Regaling his audience with humorous anecdotes, Arnold spoke about the history of this property located on the Forge River and what it takes to run a business in 2025.
Hard work and dedication to the community have been key to this company’s success, said Arnold. Now in its 58th year, this Nursery beckons passersby with its visual splendor, compelling cars to stop at 1740 Montauk Highway and “smell the roses.” Forge River Nursery Home & Garden Center was the fifth in the Library’s Local Business History presentation series.
