Community members can REGISTER, RENEW, or REPLACE their library card in person at the library or online.
TO SIGN UP FOR A LIBRARY CARD, YOU NEED:
Non-expired NYS Driver’s license with your current address
Non-expired NYS Non-Driver Identification Card with your current address
If your NYS Driver’s license or NYS Non-Driver Identification Card has your current street address listed, that is all you need.
Community members who do not have their current street address listed on their NYS-issued photo ID will need both:
- Current photo ID
One of the following with your current street address:
- Automobile registration card
- Automobile insurance card
- Tax assessment notice
- Current mortgage or lease agreement
- Recent utility bill
- Recent pay stub
- Recently postmarked piece of mail delivered to your residence.
Children can be registered for cards by their parent or guardian until age 18.
Students with a current William Floyd School District photo ID card can register for a library card.
The Community Library also contracts with the Eastport/South Manor Central School District. Residents of this district are eligible to join one of their four local libraries. Residents may apply in person to the library of their choice for a library card, which is valid for one year. The service year begins on July 1 and runs through June 30 of the following year. Residents of the Eastport/South Manor Central School District vote each year to approve or disapprove public library service.
Please report a lost or stolen library card to the Circulation Department immediately. This will ensure that another individual cannot use your card.
