Adam Grohman is the Dean of Students at SUNY Maritime college. He is also the co-founder of the Underwater Historical Research Society (UHRS) and the author of over 30 books that have explored various aspects of maritime history. His in-depth research has provided insight into hundreds of shipwrecks, Civil War-era sub-marine technology, early diving equipment of the U.S. Navy’s U.D.T. and S.E.A.L. teams, the last pirate hung in the United States, Theodore Roosevelt’s historic submarine ride and lifelong support of the U.S. Navy, and maritime terrorism. Additional titles explore the rich and storied history of the United States Coast Guard and its predecessor agencies, aviation history, and interesting aspects of the maritime history of the Long Island Sound and nearby environs. A collection of fun and illustrated children’s titles are also available including a fanciful tale of the origin that the “X” marks the spot of buried treasure.
