Starting May 1, the MMSCL Makerspace will be closed to the public for staff training. All scheduled May classes will continue as planned. For computer help or one-on-one tech appointments, please call the Adult Reference Desk at 631-399-1511 ext. 2023 to schedule.  

We will continue to offer technology help during the closure, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you need specialized assistance.

Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library is proud to have offered fun and creative Makerspace programming, such as:

  • Sublimation Programs, like Slate Photo Frames, Mousepads, Mugs, and Notebooks.
  • Canva Programs, like create your own Holiday Cards, AI Generated Art, and other personalized design classes.
  • Cricut Programs, like Leather Bookmarks, Cricut Beverage Koozies, and Ornaments.
  • 3D Design Programs, such as designing your own 3D printed keychain.
  • Embroidery Programs, like Embroidered Aprons, Tea Towels, and Framed Hoops.

Makerspace programming we are continuing to offer in May at our Main Building:

  • Mugs for Moms: Drop-in Sublimation Mugs, Wednesday, May 7, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
    Bring your little one in to create some marker art or bring some artwork from home and we’ll help you put it on a mug as a special gift for mom this Mother’s Day. One mug per child, while supplies last. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is necessary.
  • PowerPoint Roulette, Wednesday, May 14, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Registration begins Wednesday, April 30. Looking to perfect your slideshow presentation skills? Join us for some nerdy tech fun as we try out PowerPoint Roulette, also known as PowerPoint Karaoke or Battledecks. We provide the topic and the slides; you try your best to make sense of it all! Ages 16+ welcome.
  • Budgeting With Excel, Wednesday, May 28 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Registration begins Wednesday, May 14.
    Summer is right around the corner, and it’s time to think about taking a well deserved vacation. Learn how you can use Microsoft Excel to create a budget spreadsheet to help plan your trip while keeping your finances in check.
