Long Island Reads encourages book lovers in Nassau and Suffolk counties to read the same book each April during National Library Week. This year’s selection is Sutton by Long Island native and Pulitzer Prize- winner J.R. Moehringer. Moehringer’s fictionalized account portrays one of the most notorious, romantic and enigmatic criminals of the first half of the 20th century. William Francis “Willie” Sutton was a mystery, a folk hero, a lover of books, a reader of Dante … and a felon whose 40-year career netted him close to $2 million.

Copies are available at the circulation desk after March 20.

To insure that as many adults as possible are able to attend our programs, spots are guaranteed for those who are registered and arrive promptly. A waiting list is used to fill cancellations before a program begins or for no-shows the day of a program. This does not apply to fee based programs.
