Book Discussion of Half Broke Horses
Jan 17 2013 2:00PM - Jan 17 2013 4:00PM
Program No: 10304

This program is intended for adults age 18 and older.

Jeannette Walls (author of The Glass Castle) had a remarkable maternal grandmother in Lily Casey Smith. By age six, Lily was helping her father break horses, and at fifteen, she left home to teach in a frontier town 500 miles away. Later she learned to drive a car and fly a plane. With her husband, Jim, she ran a vast ranch in Arizona and raised two children, one of whom is Jeannette’s memorable mother, unforgettably portrayed in The Glass Castle. Copies are available at the Circulation Desk after December 27.

To insure that as many adults as possible are able to attend our programs, spots are guaranteed for those who are registered and arrive promptly. A waiting list is used to fill cancellations before a program begins or for no-shows the day of a program. This does not apply to fee based programs.
