Anne Taffel has received acclaim in the United States, South America and Europe. Her tours have brought her performances at Carnegie Recital Hall, on National Public Radio, Central Conservatory, China and in Canada, Austria, Poland, Iceland, Belgium, Peru, and Denmark. Anne Taffel’s piano studies go back to the age of five when she began lessons with her mother. At 13 she was awarded a scholarship to the Juilliard School and two years later she made her debut as featured soloist with full orchestra. She earned her baccalaureate in music at Oberlin Conservatory, acquired a Masters in Performance from New England Conservatory and pursued her studies in Europe at the Vienna Hochschule fur Musik and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. In 2011, Anne Taffel gave performances and master classes at the Central Conservatory in Beijing, China. She also performed and taught at China Conservatory and Beijing Normal University. In 2009 and 2010 she performed and taught in South America and in Europe. Orchestras who have presented Anne Taffel as concerto soloist include the Oregon Symphony, West Coast Chamber Orchestra, Eugene Symphony and the Erie Philharmonic. Anne Taffel has taught piano performance at Reed College and at the University of Bridgeport, and as Guest Professor at Central Conservatory and Normal University in Beijing, China. Critics have been particularly impressed by Ms. Taffel’s exciting style at the piano- her “energy and daring”, her “strength and grace” and her “powerfully emotional” interpretations of the Romantic repertoire. (The Oregonian). THE NEW YORK TIMES praised her for “a handsome, animated performance.” Tickets available at the Adult Services Desk $2 adults/$1 students and seniors
