The Community Library's online Live Librarian provides answers to basic reference questions and offers homework assistance after Library hours. Live Librarian is available:

Sundays - 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Monday - Thursday 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Patrons requiring assistance are welcome to engage in a one-on-one chat with a reference librarian. Answers to questions, suggestions and/or Internet addresses for further information may be provided in real time during the chat. When suitable, articles and/or information will also be e-mailed to the patron. In some instances, patrons may be referred to their home libraries when their needs require the use of a more specialized research service.

Live Librarian users are required to provide their zip code for statistical purposes as well as their E-Mail address in the event that further information is required. An evaluation form will also be sent to the users E-Mail address. The patron's E-Mail address will not be saved or used for any other purposes.

Live Librarians will not provide technical support. Patrons with technical support questions are asked to contact the Community Library at (631) 399-1511 ext. 223.
