Friends of the Arts, Inc. at the Community Library
A not-for-profit organization established by the Mastics-Moriches-Shirley Community Library in 1991 that strives to bring a diverse performance series to the community. The goal of the Friends of the Arts is to make the arts accessible, affordable, and fun.
Long Island School of the Arts
Instruction and classes in music, dance and theater. Private music lessons, universal Pre-K and performing arts based before and after school care are offered. Special needs classes also available. Please see the website for a complete list of programs.
Mastic Peninsula Historical Society
DEVELOP PICTORIAL AND ORAL HISTORY; IDENTIFY HISTORICAL LOCATIONS; IDENTIFY AND PRESERVE HISTORICAL COMMENTARIES; ADVOCATE RESTORATION OF HISTORICAL SITES; ESTABLISH A PERMANENT MEETING PLACE FOR THE SOCIETY; START A WEBSITE; DEVELOP AN ARTIFACT COLLECTION; DEVELOP TOURS OF HISTORIC PLACES IN THE COMMUNITY.
William Floyd Estate, Fire Island National Seashore Historic Site
The house is open to the public from Memorial Day Weekend to mid-November, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 10 am - 4 pm. Guided tours of the Old Mastic House every 1/2 hour.Off season (winter-spring) bird walks, botany walks, cultural landscape tours etc.are offered on the grounds.Slide programs/talks offered for organized groups All programs are free.
