Community Library's Family Literacy Project, Inc.
A not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support and encourage family literacy. In addition to ongoing literacy based programs, the Community Library offers special grant funded programs. The Family Literacy Project, Inc. funds nationally recognized, proven programs such as: Parent/Child Home Program, Reach Out and Read, and English as a Second Language Family Literacy Component. The Community Library is a regional office for Literacy Suffolk, Inc. The office facilitates basic reading and English skills tutoring. District residents who have difficulty reading or for whom English is not their first language, may apply for private or small group tutoring through Literacy Suffolk, Inc.
